Tooth Brace : The Functions And The Kind

Speaking about tooth brace had reminded me a lot to ‘Betty La Fea’. Anyway, today I will post about Tooth Brace. Here is the result from some articles that I read, and I use as the sources for this article. Tooth brace has been made in 1970’s, but it becomes trend in 1990’s.

Commonly, there are two prominent reason behind the worn of tooth-brace,

Number one is to improve the tooth function. Irregular form of tooth will influence the whole digest function. Number two, is for aesthetic. Aesthetic concerns a lot with performance. In fact that is the most common reason why people use tooth brace. Though actually those two intention is definitely different.

There are four kinds of tooth brace material, they are :

(1) Fix Orthodontics

Fix orthodontics is the most popular tooth brace in society. It forms in an attached brace that can be linked on and off. If someone uses Fix orthodontics, this brace tooth will shown everytime she/he smiles.

(2) Lingual Orthodontics

Lingual orthodontics is put behind tooth, thus if we smile, a brace tooth won’t seen. It cost more expensive than fix orthodontics, because it has a higher level of installation difficulty, maintenance, and will not influence our look.

(3) Face mask ; and (4) Head Gear

Both face mask and head gear are applied in an extreme tooth disturbance. The device is put around face, from forehead, cheek, till tooth. The different is, face mask is used to improve low tooth, while head gear is to handle upper tooth.
