Many people commonly choose the same lighting for all rooms, while the fact is, each room in our house needs a different lighting needs.

To determine the lighting necessity, we can analyze the room’s function. Is it used as public room with many activities, or is it used to relax or rest ? .

Rooms with high activities like working room needs a bright lighting. Bright light will stimulate eyes and body to be more excited to do activities. White lights is the best for this kind of room.

On the other hand, rooms for relax and rest needs a more tender lighting, so that eyes and body will be placed in a more relax mode. Yellowish lighting will fit this room.

To make it easier to adjust the lighting level in each room, we can use a tool like dimmer. By using Dimmer, it will be easier to manage the lighting intensity. In the end, it will make us more comfortable in doing our activity.

Understanding the space of our dining room. If our dining room is not too wide (small and open), we had better put the furniture in one side of the wall. Furniture will not take too much space, so it won’t bother us doing our activities.

- Direct Lighting

Dining Room will look more elegant with direct lighting in transparent lamps-cap. Direct lighting will result to a bright but not dazzling. Yellow is the perfect lighting for dining room.

- Add some accessories

Accessories will certainly beautify our appearance. But we must also watch carefully, placing too much accessories will make our dining room look crowded. Match the accessories with the nuances around, is it an elegant or romantic dining room.

Direct lighting can be used to define activities. It will give a straight spot to the area which being shot, and it can form shade or shadows to the rest of the area around it.

Direct lighting in the dinning room and kitchen can be a good example.

Hanging lights will give a direct lighting to the space bellow it. The can also determine the cabinet above them more straight.

Food processing cabinet needs a maximum lighting access.

Using direct lighting in this area must not be too strong, so that it won’t result a disturbing shadow.

One side effect of direct lighting is the existence of area which is not being spotted on. Those areas will emerge two kinds of effects : shadow and shade. While un-direct lighting will cause gradation effects and shadows.

The key to optimum result is the precise in installing spot light and understanding the effect of the area which is spotted.
