What is grey hair actually ? how come it shows while we’re sill young ? According to Dr.Tjut Nurul Alam Jacoeb, skin and sexual specialist from Jakarta Skin Center, the main factor that caused grey hair is genetic factor. Grey hair appears because our hair pieces got lack of pigment.

There are two kinds of pigment in hair :

1. Eomelanin,

This pigment can be found in color people like Asian, Arabic, India, etc. The pigment brings a dark color, so the hair tends to have dark tone.

2. Feomelanin ,

This pigment is in white people. the pigment is yellowish, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have eomelanin, they still do have, but in small quantity. Even the Asian also has feomelanin pigment.

Human has lots of hair roots, and not all of them produce pigment.
